Mastiff-- Molosser

History: The mastiff breed comes in three different types; you have a the Bull Mastiff, Tibetan Mastiff and a Neapolitan Mastiff. This breed is a descendant from the ancient Alaunt and Pugnaces Britanniae with a significant input from the Alpine Mastiff in the 19th century. Mastiffs were known as Canes Pugnaces Britanniae or for short Pugnaces Britanniae; which means “combative (one) of Britannia”. They also had another name which was “Bandogs”, Bandogs were dogs that were tied(bound) close to houses. Bandogs were described as vast, huge, stubborn, ugly and eager.

Why Mastiffs Make Great Pets:
Mastiffs make a great companions for family and friends because they are loyal, hardworking, calm and friendly. Owning a mastiff you don't have to worry about losing your dog at a young age; Mastiff live on average around seven years old but that is not always true. A mastiff is a really big dog so if you decide to get this type of dog it be best to have a spacious backyard, or house so the dog can stretch and enough exercise in its older years to prevent slothful behavior. However, this dog is an amazing dog because it's affectionate and is very obedient. It will always being very loving towards you and your family and wont ever have to worry about issues.

Health Problems: With owning any type of pet they will have a range of health problems that accompany it. Owning a mastiff can be easy at sometimes;however, there are some major things you have to do to insure it stays healthy and doesn't get sick. When I comes to sleeping, you have to give your mastiff a soft service to lay on or else it could develop calluses, arthritis and hygroma(acute inflammatory swelling). When a Mastiff has baby its best to put them in a box next to the mother because due to the mastiff side they could end up crushing their young with nursing. Other than the small issues if not having a soft surface to lay on they are very well healthy animals that don't have a lot of health issues.
