Golden Retrievers -- "Retrievers"

History: The notorious Golden Retriever was first encountered near Glen Affric in Scotland. When it first was encountered, Golden Retrievers were more popular among the higher class rather than middle or lower. Since becoming known, any common descendent were still unknown; however, they believe it to be originated from the Russian Tracker breed. This breed was extremely popular as a gun dog(hunting dog). The reason they were bred was so the public could have a dog that would retrieve the kill; either it be in water or on land. Through this method, a lot of kills were found and not left around. Known to retrieve their master kills; this is how it got its name “retriever”. After becoming such a popular breed it took till 1913 to finally be accepted by the United Kennel Club. It wasn’t till another 14 years later when the bred was recognized in America, in 1925 and start to be accepted in other places.

 Why Retrievers Make Great Pets:  When looking for the perfect family orientated dog, the Golden Retriever is the perfect companion to get. Golden Retrievers live approximately to12 years old so you'll always have your friend with you at your side. Owning a Golden Retriever has a lot of ups; the retriever is perfect for a families with young children. Their extremely patient with the child; therefore, you'll never have to worry about an incident happening. Another up for family with children is that when you child wants to play this dog is right along with them. After getting so close to your dog, you'll realize that this dog becomes a very loyal family member. Golden Retrievers love to be outside, play and be active. Even if you have another animal this breed will never have any issues with them; this breed is just a large fur ball of love and compassion. 

 Health Problems:  When it comes to owning any breed of dog, there will be complication that could happen. Owning a Golden Retriever may be easy but when it comes to health issues its hard to figure out what's actually wrong with them; most of heath problems are genetically based. The most common health issues with this breed would be cancer; the type of cancer they acquire is called Hemangiosarcoma. This breed is also prone to many diseases such as cataracts, subvalvular aortic stenosis and cardiomyopathy and even dermatitis. Many of this breeds issues can be prevented; if you regularly have your dog test then they could drastically save your friend.
